The Story of the Mu Eta Chapter
Arizona State University was forever changed on April 26, 1976, when the Mu Eta Chapter became the 448th chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. The Mu Eta Chapter was founded by Brother Gerald Richard II, who was initially made on August 20, 1974 at the University of Arizona, Zeta Theta Chapter. At the time, Brother Gerald Richard II saw a great need for Alpha Phi Alpha on campus, and made a decision to create the Mu Eta chapter. He alone ushered in the first three charter lines: Genesis, Destiny, and One through Eternity. Since its establishment in 1976, the Mu Eta Chapter continues to uphold the aims of the Fraternity high - Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for All Mankind.
The Mu Eta Chapter has continued to remain the leading Black Greek Lettered Organization on the Arizona State University campus since its founding. In recent years, the Mu Eta Chapter has proven to the Phoenix and Arizona State University communities that Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is the one and only Fraternity truly dedicated to leadership and improving the lives of all that feel the warmth of its Light.
